Homestead
A Homestead Exemption is an exemption of $1,000 off of the assessed valuation of your primary residence. In tax year 2019, this was a savings of $91 to $142 depending on where you live in the county.
Additional Homestead
An Additional Homestead Exemption is an exemption of an additional $1,000 off the assessed valuation of your primary residence.
Senior Freeze
The Senior Valuation Limitation locks in or freezes the Taxable Fair Cash Value for owners 65 years or older. In order to qualify, you must qualify for Homestead Exemption, be head of household, and the total previous year income for all residents must not exceed the HUD Median Income.
Circuit Breaker
Some low or fixed-income homeowners may file a claim for property tax relief for the amount of the property taxes paid by the homeowner for the preceding calendar year which exceeds one percent (1%) of the household income. However, no claim for property tax relief shall exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
Disabled Veterans
The 100% Disabled Veterans Exemption provides for exemption of the full Fair Cash Value (Market) of homestead property.
